Do you know of a quaint French Village in Northern France?

I will be in Belgium with relatives. I was thinking of taking a jaunt to Paris, however, I have seen so much of it on TV and I feel a quaint village would be just as rewarding as Paris. Any suggestions for a village/town in Northern France?

Obernai is a very nice village on the north east of france in Alsace. The attached links tells you a little about it.

It is 20km from Strasbourg which is seat of the European Parliament and you can easily spend 4 days at those 2 locations.
