What is the best type of art to have in a kitchen?

I have a large open wall in my newly-renovated kitchen, and I want to put some type of art on it. Any suggestions to the type of art I should consider (oil, mixed media, photo) for this type of room?

I have baskets on my walls. I pick them up cheap at the Goodwill store, Family Dollar, Dollar General, etc. so they don’t cost much and I can paint some of them to match my color scheme. I get lots of comments on my cheap decor!
