What are some good original story ideas?

Okay well lately I have been trying to write a story but it just sounds like another book that I really love (the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins). Well as much as I love vampires and stuff, I dont really want to write a story about vampires. But I like the consept of young love and having a love interest. And I also like violence and action. Oh annd surreal things are cool too!

It is best if you think of an idea on your own. Make the story come from your own imagination. If it was someone else’s idea, than it wouldn’t be your own story. If you need help thinking of an idea, brainstorming is a good idea. Something I like to do is randomly search pictures on Google and see if I get inspired. Inspiration comes from anywhere, but it should be from your own mind.
