Statement
Nancy McTague-Stock is an award winning
artist and respected arts educator. She is a current candidate for
her MFA at the Art Institute of Boston in Printmaking and Painting.
Nancy received her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University at
aged twenty, and then went on to study for six years at the Art
Students League in New York, where she studied drawing and painting.
Her passion for the natural environment is revealed in her landscape
work, as she explores her focus with dexterity of media; oil, solar
etching, drypoint, monotype, pastel, watercolor and drawing. Despite
her notable artistic accomplishments, Nancy's penchant for sharing
her talents is evidenced in her commitment to education, passing
on her knowledge through teaching students of all ages.
Nancy's artwork has been exhibited in museums,
universities, and galleries across the country; she is in hundred
of private, corporate, and public collections here and abroad, with
commissions for many, such as the Department of Environmental Protection.
Nancy has been a presenter at the Aldrich Museum for Connecticut
Art Educators, a presenter at the Connecticut Art Educator's Annual
meeting, a lecturer for the Women Artist Series in Weston, a panelist
for the League of University Women, created the 'Landscapes into
Tuscany' painting tours in the 1990's and has served as a Master
Printer at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. Nancy has also
been a featured artist with the Fairfield University Open Forums
program as well as a writer of various art related articles. She
is listed in "Who's Who of American Women" and "Who's
Who in America."
