What is the value of an original Norman Rockwell portrait?
My family has an original Norman Rockwell portrait of Colonel Sanders in its possession. I was curious as to a reasonable market value of it.
Anybody have any ideas?

Formerly called James Watt (1736-1819) Photo Mugs
Comparison with engravings after William Beecheys portrait of James Watt in particular (original in Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery), but also portraits such as Carl Fredrik von Bredas of 1792 (National Portrait Gallery) makes it clear that the sitter in this portrait is definitely not James Watt. Furthermore, the painter is almost certainly not Beechey…..
Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) Photo Mugs
A half-length portrait of Galileo, the Italian mathematician, astronomer and experimental philosopher, in old age. The original version was painted in Florence in 1636 by Justus Sustermans. It was sent by Galileo to a friend in Paris but soon returned to Florence and has been in the Uffizi collection since at least 1678. Compared to Sustermans slightly later portrait of Galileo seated in a chair, …
John Hanning Speke (1827-1864) Photo Mugs
A full length portrait of John Hanning Speke (1827-1864) from an original photograph by Southwell Brothers of about 1863. To the left of Speke sits a surveying sextant on a stand. After serving in the British army, Speke took part in a number of expeditions in Africa in the 1850s and 1860s, notably to east Africa in 1856-9 (with Richard Burton), during which time he named Lake Victoria, which he b…

Mingus Ah Um
$4.47
Mercurial bassist and bandleader Charles Mingus was signed to Columbia Records for the briefest of time during 1959. His Columbia recordings, however, remain some of the most inspired, mood-jumping jazz in history. The flowing sadness of “Goodbye Porkpie Hat” (unedited here for the first time on CD!) rings like a funeral chorus that pitches headlong into a celebration of Lester Young’s life and im…
Picture of Dorian Gray [VHS]
$11.99
These nip/tuck, Botoxed times would seem to be ripe for a remake of Oscar Wilde’s ageless story of youth-worshiping aristocrat Dorian Gray. Until then, we have this 1945 prestige production starring Hurd Hatfield as Dorian, who, under the influence of the incorrigible Lord Henry Wotton, vows to live only for pleasure and to give in to all “exquisite temptations.” While he sinks into a vile life of…
