What animal would make a good small pet?

OK i have had a rat (she was the sweetest ever but died of old age), a mouse (got out of his cage some how and was killed by my mother in-law) and hamster (just died of old age), i don’t have room for a Giunie pig or a ferret. but really want a small animal pet is there any other animal out there i may have missed?

Budgerigars are great i have one at the moment Tweety is her name!!! Also another reason they are great is because they can talk to you!!!
also you could get fish or turtles are both very nice fish are a bit boring but VERY easy to care for!!!!
